母谷区自治会 HOUDANI-KU Residents' Association花と詩２（水仙）

花と詩の２番目は水仙です。Ｏさん宅の庭に咲き始めていました。日本水仙も「雪中四友」の花の一つです。
水仙の詩を探していると、懐かしい歌を見つけました。「七つの水仙（Seven Daffodils）」と言う５０年以上前のアメリカのフォークソングです。私も学生の時に良く聞きました。財産は無いが太陽と自然に恵まれた母谷を連想させる詩のラブソングです。この曲は、ピート・シーガーとリー・ヘイズが中心となって結成し1950年代に活躍したアメリカのフォークソング・グループ ウィーバーズ（The Weavers）が1957年に発表したものですが、ザ・ブラザース・フォア (The Brothers Four) が、この曲を1964年にカバーして大ヒットさせ、世界中で有名になりました。
